Prior to Heartland Claims Consulting (HCC), founder Patti Edwards worked in the insurance business for 9 years, and with this experience, understood insurance billing, claims, EOBs, and the other finer parts of the insurance system. She knew she found her niche. In 2015, Patti began working for a chiropractor with her insurance billing. Soon Patti discovered a natural ability that she was good at and enjoyed, so she began to reach out to other chiropractors.

To further her knowledge, she watched several chiropractors, learning their procedures and how they related to insurance billing. She found they were not billing for all the techniques they were practicing, which caused them to miss additional revenue from the insurance companies. Patti was able to consult the doctors so they could update their billing practices to match with the work they were performing on the patient.
