Description
Third Saturdays in WesTen District
The WesTen District, with Northwest 10th Street as their main corridor, introduces Third Saturdays in WesTen with a MadPotter Open House, Council Grove Historically Local Tour at Castle Falls, and a Marking Tree Open House.
MadPotter Studio with Matt Murray hosts a monthly open house 11AM-5PM at 4602 Northwest 10th which is open to all ages (children need parental supervision), must be 14+ to experience pottery wheel, and includes light appetizers at Noon. There is no charge for the open house and registration is not required. For more details call 405.996.0049.
Marking Tree Design, named for the Native American “technology” of marking trees to provide direction and location of water sources, is a father/son venture to create elemental contemporary furniture as works of art. Located at 3706 Northwest 16th, the 12Noon-2PM open house will give you the opportunity to see Zach Hammack’s artistry and learn the importance of local history told through wood. There is no charge for the open house and registration is not required. For more details call 405.919.8705.
The Historically Local Council Grove/Castle Falls Tour will include the history of the 3 square mile of Unassigned Land in west OKC called Council Grove, the castle and the many early 1900’s downtown OKC artifacts embedded in the castle when it was built. There is no charge for this 12Noon-1PM tour led by proprietor, Amy Rollins but registration is requested here: https://castletoursep2021.eventbrite.com. For more details contact amy@castlefalls.com.
